0.8.6 - Generals

Post in Russian: https://vk.com/throughtheage

Greetings everyone on the game update series of posts, this series will break down some of the global and not so global changes. There will be 5 posts in total, which will cover: generals, technology, revolutions, diplomacy and a little training. The first post will be about the new military system in the game, instead of the usual numbers on the map.

The first and important thing is that with the new army system, general points have been added, they show how many generals you have and how many you can hire in total. To increase the maximum number of possible hires, you should build barracks. Also, to increase the possible number of generals, you can learn technologies for this purpose, which will be mentioned in the next posts.

After hiring a general you have the opportunity to interact with him, you can: see his salary, location, army, characteristics, level. You can also hire or disband his army, pump, if you have improvement points, as well as move him.

Moving works quite simply, after pressing the button you will be moved to the location of the general, that is, you do not need to look for him on the map, then on the map will be highlighted several provinces, the darkest indicates the current location of the general, and a little lighter show where you can move to. To move the general you need to right-click on one of the proposed provinces, to cancel the move, you need to click either on the province of the current location of the general, or on any other that is not highlighted.

Improvement points are gained by leveling up and can be spent on improving any characteristic, such as attack or defence. Experience for leveling up is gained through battles.

Battles are fought either as an attack or a defence. Attack means moving your general to the territory of the hostile country, defence means that the country you are at war with moves its general to the territory of your country. After each battle, even if there was no battle, you get a report on the map, in the province where the battle took place, showing the generals involved in the battle, their armies and losses. There is a chance that a general will be killed during the battle, in which case you lose the general and his entire army.

Each general has his own army: infantry, tanks and aeroplanes. Depending on their number, the general's salary will grow. It is desirable for a general to have an army in all its types, as the result of the battle depends on it. General's salary depends not only on the army, but also on his characteristics (attack and defence) and his level.

This is one of the most globally reworked things in 0.8.6 that completely changes the gameplay of the game, the others being technology, revolutions, as well as redesigned diplomacy and added short tutorials at the start of the game. Subscribe to the game's page to not miss posts about these changes, as well as the release of the new version 0.8.6.
